Welcome to Academy House — a historic, three-story Cincinnati gem where each bedroom is themed with a touch of academia. Sleep under a constellation mural in the Science Room, spin vinyl in the Music Room, and gather around the backyard firepit after exploring nearby Over-the-Rhine. There is so much to do in Cincinnati, and guests will get our guidebook of the absolute best things to do, see, eat, and drink in our city! 😀 In general: - Keypad entry and self check-in - 2 full bathrooms with Jacuzzi bathtubs - Fast WiFi - Roku Smart TV in Living Room - Roku Smart TV in Music Bedroom - Fully stocked kitchen with brand new dishwasher, range, and microwave, extensive small appliance collection (air fryer, blender, toaster, coffee grinder, crockpot, hand mixer) - Coffee and tea station (Keurig, drip coffee machine, electric kettle, and French press) - 8 person dining table - Combo Booster seat/high chair - Pack N Play - sheets not provided. Please bring your own sheets. - Washer and dryer - King beds in all bedrooms - Dedicated workspace in the 2nd floor office - We provide a generous starter supply of paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, dish soap, laundry detergent, fabric softener sheets, coffees, teas, creamers, and sweeteners. 🛏️ Sleeping Spaces: - Spin vintage vinyl or pluck the strings of the guitar in the Music room. Unwind from the day with your own Roku Smart TV. - Enjoy morning coffee and pick a book off of the wall to enjoy in the private seating area of the Literature Room. - Peruse art books and spark your creativity in the Art Room complete with cozy sitting area for one. - Read under the stars in the Science Room. 🌳 Outdoor space: - Outdoor dining table for 8 - 8 Adirondack chairs for relaxing around a propane fire pit - Front porch with seating area for 2 🚗 Parking: -Free street parking 📍 The location: - Less than 2 minutes off of I-71 with easy access to downtown Cincinnati - 1 mile from Hard Rock Casino - 2.2 miles to Paycor Stadium (home of the Bengals) - 1.9 miles to Great American Ballpark (home of the Reds) - 1.4 miles to University of Cincinnati - 2.9 miles to Xavier University - 1.7 miles to Heritage Bank Center - 1.8 miles from TQL Stadium (home of FC Cincinnati) - 1.2 miles to the Over-The-Rhine district (restaurants and bars) - 0.6 miles from Christ Hospital - less than 2 miles to Cincinnati Childrens Hospital, University Hospital, VA Hospital A few notes: There are steps up to the house from the street, and the home has three stories. This is an older home with lots of steps, which unfortunately makes access difficult for anyone with mobility issues. The bedrooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The 2 full bathrooms (both with shower/tub combos) are on the 1st and 2nd floors. The Music and Literature bedrooms have a door between them that can be locked from either side or can be open - great for families with children! The Art Bedroom is open to the stairs, and guests staying in the Science Bedroom must pass through the Art Bedroom to go downstairs. Ceilings in the 3rd floor bedrooms (Art and Science) are sloped, so please mind your head when navigating the space. There is one motion-sensor flood light and camera located at the front entrance of the home. There is one security camera at the back door of the home. The following areas of the home are used for owner storage and are not accessible to guests: living room closet, Music bedroom closet, basement, and backyard shed. Allergen alert - While we do our best to thoroughly clean between guests, this home is dog-friendly and may not be appropriate for guests with pet allergies. Whether you`re here to cheer on the Bengals, reconnect with family, or simply explore the city, Academy House offers a cozy, creative retreat you`ll remember long after checkout. Guests will self check-in using a keypad on the front door. Please message us if any assistance is needed during your stay. PETS We allow up to **3 dogs (50 lb max each)** for **$75 per pet, per stay**. - If you add pets during booking, VRBO will automatically include the first pee fee in your total. - If not, we’ll send an alteration request after booking. - We will request additional pet fees after booking For larger dogs or more than 3 pets, please **send an inquiry first** for approval. **No cats or other animals are allowed.** RENTAL AGREEMENT, DAMAGE WAIVER/HOLD, ID VERIFICATION AND CHECK-IN STEPS We`re so excited for your trip! PLEASE NOTE: Our listing description and house rules mention that you will be required to complete a Guest Rental Agreement, ID verification, and Security Hold (which is not a security deposit) in order to receive Arrival Instructions to the home. Details of the Guest Rental Agreement can be found in the House Rules. Important: When cancelling your reservation, the credit card processing fees of 3.9% + 30c will not be refunded. If booking with a credit card that doesn`t match the guest name, you`ll be required to provide a written authorization, photo of the ID, selfie, and card showing the last 4 digits of the credit card holder, or reservation will be cancelled.
