Summary: Welcome to The Charles. This house just underwent a major renovation in early 2021 including all new bathrooms, kitchen appliances, paint, flooring and lighting. It is absolutely gorgeous and inviting and the perfect place to call your home away from home! The Space: This unique home on the west edge of the Country Club Plaza, was designed by the late Kansas City artist Dixie Glenn and built by her husband Charles. They used to enjoy sitting on the side deck of the house every late afternoon having a glass of wine and watching all of the people come and go from The Plaza. Fortunately this house has ample parking in the driveway and the 2 car garage because parking is a premium in this area due to how close it is to all of the shops. The spacious two-story great room is the focal point of the home. The great room features many windows, and a smart TV. A home office area is on one side of the great room, making it perfect to work away from home. The office walks out to a patio overlooking a fishpond and private backyard. Also overlooking the pond is the main floor bedroom with its king size bed and full bathroom. Included is a washer and dryer. The beautiful full-size kitchen is stocked with dishes and appliances if you should choose to make your own meals. The kitchen utilizes a turn of the century soda fountain counter and stools re-purposed from a drug store from Holton, Kansas. Spend your late afternoon sipping your favorite beverage on the east deck and watch passersby walk their dogs to the dog park just 3 blocks west of the home. The Studio Bedroom on the second floor has two queen beds and another other upstairs bedroom has a king bed, both with their own Smart TV's and full bathrooms.
